Into the Unknown: The colorguard stole the show with costumes and head pieces that blended elegance with a touch of gladiator, captivating onlookers wherever Union performed. The band also unveiled a bold new look with black jackets clad with silver armor, and a shako topped with a silver spike. Teamed with 2000's championship staff, this radical look, original music, and jungle rhythm effects once again delivered a top program to the field. Union took 1st Place at the Oklahoma Bandmaster Association State Marching Band Championship and placed 3rd at the Bands of America Regional Championship in St. Louis. The crowning event of the 2001 marching season came in Pasadena, California when the Renegade Regiment made its first appearance in the Tournament of Roses Parade. (Music written and arranged by: Mark Higgenbotham * Drill Design by: Brian Youngblood * Creative Design: Wes Cartwright)
